What is UIA

The purpose of the Utah Intercollegiate Assembly is to provide means for collegiate input to the legislative process of Utah.

The UIA is composed of elected and appointed students from every institution of higher learning which represents opinions and views of more than 100,000 students in the State of Utah.

The UIA works closely with Utah student-body presidents of each institution of higher learning. Legislation originating from this group provides valuable input to the Utah Legislature and the Board of Regents.

Much of the state legislation involves institutions of higher learning, therefore, cooperation among state legislators, the Utah Board of Regents, and students is beneficial to all. Most importantly because UIA participants may become the community, state, and national leaders of tomorrow.
